Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy

J-TETA (Jurnal Teknik Terapan) recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can serve as supportive tools in scientific writing. However, their application must strictly uphold publication ethics and high standards of academic integrity.

1. Permitted Use of AI
Authors are allowed to utilize AI tools strictly for the following purposes:
  • Improving sentence structure and grammar.
  • Language editing and refinement.
  • Basic technical support, such as manuscript formatting or drafting initial translations.
2. Prohibited Use of AI
Authors are strictly forbidden from:
  • Listing any AI system as an author or co-author.
  • Generating the core substance of the manuscript (such as data analysis, research findings, and discussion) automatically without direct human involvement.
  • Falsifying data, manipulating research outcomes, or fabricating references using AI.
  • Accepting AI-generated outputs without independently verifying and validating the accuracy of the information.
3. Transparency and Disclosure
If AI tools are involved in the writing process, authors are required to:
  • Report the use of such AI instruments in the Acknowledgment or methodology section.
  • Clearly specify the type of AI technology used and the purpose of its application.
4. Author Accountability
Authors bear full control and sole responsibility for:
  • The originality, validity, and accuracy of all content within the article.
  • The authenticity of every argument, empirical data, and reference list provided.
  • Any consequences arising from the use of AI in creating the manuscript.
5. Regulations for Editors and Reviewers
Editors and peer reviewers are strictly prohibited from using AI to:
  • Upload draft manuscripts into public or open AI platforms.
  • Distribute or share the contents of a manuscript under review without official authorization.
  • The review process must fully prioritize document confidentiality and the integrity of scientific evaluation.
6. Policy Violations
Any breach of these regulations will be met with strict measures, including:
  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript during the evaluation phase.
  • Retraction of the article if the manuscript has already been published.
  • Further disciplinary actions aligned with the journal's publication ethics code.
