Article Retraction, Withdrawal, & Removal Policy

J-TETA (Jurnal Teknik Terapan) is committed to maintaining the integrity of a permanent and unaltered scholarly record. However, under extraordinary circumstances, actions regarding the retraction, withdrawal, or removal of an article may be taken based on the following provisions:

1. Article Retraction
This applies to articles that have been officially published (in print or online) but are later found to contain severe scientific errors or ethical violations (such as plagiarism, false authorship claims, multiple submissions, or fraudulent data use).
  • Procedure: Requires a signed written statement and consent from all co-authors of the manuscript.
  • Action: The original article will not be removed from the system. It will remain extant but will be clearly marked and watermarked as "Retracted". The journal will publish an official retraction notice explaining the reasons and identifying who requested it.
2. Article Withdrawal
This applies to articles that have been accepted for publication or appeared as an early online version, but have not been officially assigned to a volume/issue yet. This usually occurs due to inadvertent double-posting, technical errors, or late-detected ethical violations.
  • Action: The entire content of the article (both HTML and PDF versions) will be completely removed from the electronic platform. It will be replaced with a placeholder page stating that the article has been withdrawn in accordance with the journal's policy.
3. Article Removal
This is enforced in extremely limited and exceptional cases where a published article is clearly defamatory, violates the legal rights of others, is subject to a court order, or poses a severe risk if its findings are acted upon.
  • Action: The main text and content of the article will be completely deleted from the online platform. However, the article's metadata (title and author information) will be retained alongside an official notice stating that the text was removed for legal reasons.
4. Article Replacement
In cases where an article poses a serious risk if followed, the authors may wish to recall the original document and replace it with a corrected version.
  • Action: The article follows the Article Removal procedure, but the retraction notice will include a link to the newly corrected, republished version along with its detailed document history.
Important Note on Copyright:
Even if the authors retain the copyright to their article, it does not grant them the right to withdraw or revoke it arbitrarily after publication. The integrity of the published scientific record remains paramount.
